Like most I am attracted to neon light. In my artwork, that initial attraction leads to the discovery of a contradiction in materials. Light, concrete, high voltage electricity, and Styrofoam combine to create metaphors of hypocrisy, conflict, abjection, or solitude all trapped in the guise of a simple formal structure. I expose the three-dimensional capabilities of neon and thus relate the object to the architecture that surrounds it.
