Juneteenth Community Celebration: Greenway Arts Alliance, Mid City West & LAUNCH LA

From the creators of Tarfest, LAUNCH LA is pleased to present roller skating performances by former cast members of LA’s DiscOasis at the first annual Juneteenth Celebration organized by Greenway Arts Alliance and Mid City West Neighborhood Council. Starting from 10am on Sunday, June 19th, Melrose Trading Post will feature a variety of musical performances, as well as live poetry, special vendors, exclusive merchandise and more! Proceeds from the weekly market go on to funding the arts program at Fairfax High School. For this Juneteenth Celebration, Launch is thrilled to highlight four talented roller skaters well-known for their skills both on and off 8-wheels. You’ll catch them grooving and skating throughout the market until noon! LAUNCH LA is passionate about providing all artists with quality opportunities to present their artistic expressions to a curious and enthusiastic audience at important happenings throughout Los Angeles. 

Juneteenth is now an official LA holiday!

Greenway Arts Alliance, Melrose Trading Post, and Mid City West are excited to host our first annual Juneteenth Community Celebration on Sunday, June 19th, from 11 AM - 5 PM. This community event will feature music by Samiere, Katalyst, and Sydney Ranee; spoken word poetry by AKold Piece, Pam Ward, Jahad Zainabu, and Lynda La Rose, live painting by Devin Wesley, and special appearances by former Discoasis cast members Wendell Phipps, Preshous Jordan, Josiah Bishop, and Victoria Estrada.
