Coffee Kang's residency show Sometimes Soft, Sometimes Solid will be the second opening during Residency Week, on Saturday July 31st from 4-8pm at LAUNCH LA!
Coffee’s show utilizes soap to examine the concept of home, and invites viewers to reflect on the memories, experiences, and fragility of their own homes.
Coffee Kang speaks to her use of soap in Sometimes Soft, Sometimes Solid, expressing that “The medium of soap invokes intimate memories and interior life, while its nature of temporality and fragility suggests the impermanence of what makes up a “house” and the relationship between bodies and their surroundings.”
Eventbrite registration through the link below is required to attend this, and all Residency Week events, and visitors can also register for timed hourly viewing slots between July 31 and August 8th to ensure COVID safety and allow for social distancing. Masks are also required at all galleries during Residency Week.
